This service is an NHS service run by accredited optometrists (opticians) for adults and chlidren and provides urgent assessment, treatment or referral for sudden onset eye problems such as flahes , floaters, vision loss or minor eye injuries.
Symptoms that can be treated include:
- Red or painful eye or eyelids
- Recently occuring flashes or floaters
- Recent and sudden loss of vision
- Foreign body in the eye
Please note this is not an eye test and major eye conditions that are being regularly monitored by your optometrist or hospital eye service are not covered.
