Lifestyle and Weight Management

Low Carb Course
Elizabeth LePla is a Public Health Collaboration Ambassador and has developed and now runs a low-carbohydrate course across some of the North Hampshire Practices.
Her course is now run online due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It consists of 8 sessions which are talks illustrated with slides and short videos. There is access to low carb food choices and recipes as well as other useful resources. There is also a community low carb facebook group you can join where you can ask questions and see latest research or inspiration from other areas. There are also three zoom sessions a week at different times (which are optional to join) to ask questions, share experiences and learn more.
If you are interested in joining this group you can speak to a member of our clinical team or email basingstokelowcarb@gmail.com. If you are on certain medication you will be asked to discuss with a doctor or nurse prior to starting to ensure safety.

Health and Wellbeing Coach
I provide 30 minute assessment appointments to support, educate and motivate patients to take a more active role in their own health and physical wellbeing, and make positive and confident behavioural changes. This includes areas such as healthy eating and physical activity, in order to help you to achieve desired health objectives. This may include assisting you with goal setting and working towards them, working with youto a create personalised care plan, developing bespoke programmes, all with the aim of increasing overall health, preventing further illness and slowing deterioration of existing conditions where possible.
My role ties in closely with the work of the community connectors and MIND.
