Ordering repeat prescriptions
The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:
- using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
- using patient access
- using this link
Collecting your prescription
You can usually collect your prescription 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.
You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- using our online service
Questions about your prescription
If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

Medication reviews
If you take a medication regularly, we may wish to speak to you for a regular review. We aim to proactively invite patients for these when needed but if you wish to request a review, please contact us.

Pharmacy First
From February 2024 there is a new scheme called Pharmacy First which enables pharmacists to offer advice to patients and supply medicines where clinically appropriate for 7 common health conditions. The below conditions are included:
- sinusitis
- sore throat
- earache
- infected insect bites
- impetigo
- shingles
- uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women
You can refer yourself to your local participating pharmacy – local participating pharmacies include Boots in Chineham, Tesco in Chineham, Day Lewis, Popley Pharmacy, Fastfare and most town centre pharmacies.
Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.
Most pharmacies have a private room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff.
